Originally simply a batch based data lake for reporting moving rapidly to a big data streaming platform for streaming applications, realtime predictions and more realtime reporting. As noted the two area's have a significant intersection at this time, as the strategies converge, making this increasingly interesting area to work. I still act as an advisory architect in the middleware development areas also. Previously I was a Technical Architect in the middleware tier, focused on system performance utilising APM solutions, HA and DR, systems integration, build and deployment efficiencies, and cross system technology rollout and upgrades. I worked mostly with Java EE platform solutions in a Linux environment, EJB and Spring technology, with EAI and SOA approaches.
